Allergy season is here again. I just wanted to remind readers not to use Visine, Clear Eyes, or get the red out drops on a daily basis. These eye drops are fine for occasional use. However, used daily they can lead to dryness and rebound hyperemia (this means the redness will return worse than it was before you started using these drops.) If eyes are itchy on a daily basis, one can cool compresses, lubricant eye drops, or antihistamine eye drops. There are several new and effective allergy drops available by prescription that your ophthalmologist can prescribe to you if you need to use them on a daily basis. Enjoy the blossoms!
