Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is retinopathy (damage to the retina) caused by complications of diabetes, which can eventually lead to blindness. It occurs when diabetes damages the tiny blood vessels inside the retina in the back of the eye.If you have diabetic retinopathy, at first you may not notice changes to your vision. But over time, diabetic retinopathy can get worse and cause vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy usually affects both eyes. Diabetic retinopathy can be treated with preventive measures, laser, injectable medications, or surgery. Dr Kotecha has completed extensive training in diabetic eye disease.
