Erosions of the cornea may be very painful recurrent conditions that takes away time from work and your daily life. These erosions cause eye pain, redness, light sensitivity and tearing. While treatment with lubricants and ointments can be effective, treatment with amniotic membranes such as Prokera or cyropreserved grafts has become a popular way in my clinical practice to effectively treat this painful condition. These grafts help reduce the inflammatory process and promote regenerative healing. They are quick and simple and can be easily placed in the office. If you suffer from recurrent corneal erosions, please call our office for an appointment. We would be delighted to discuss possible treatments and help.
