Chronic Styes? It Could Be Demodex Eye Mites

Frequent styes, itchy or irritated eyelids, flaky debris on the lashes, or burning, gritty eyes may be caused by Demodex eye mites. These microscopic mites live in the eyelash follicles and oil glands and are a common but underdiagnosed cause of chronic blepharitis and recurrent styes.

Our office offers in-office evaluation and targeted treatment for Demodex, which can significantly and quickly reduce inflammation, decrease stye recurrence, and improve long-term eyelid and tear film health. If you’re tired of dealing with chronic styes, we can help identify and treat the root cause.
